Caledonia Nordics return from biathlon bc cup #2 with ten medals

The Caledonia Nordic Ski Club attended with 10 athletes and a large suppport team of coaches, techs and parents. The weather was beautiful in the central okangan with day time highs reaching 5 C at  the Telemark Nordic centre. Near perfect weather for biathlon competition. Saturday was the Sprint event with age classes ranging from Midgets (8-9 years old ) to Master's (30+). Sunday was the Pursuit event with 110 athletes competing in each of the two days. The sprint event has three loops of skiing mixed in with 2 bouts of shooting (5 shots/bout). The  finish position in the Sprint determines your starting position in the next day's Pursuit event. Each athlete starts 5 secs behind the previous starter, with the first across the finish line being the winner. There was alot of very exciting racing on both days, but the Pursuit format is the more spectator friendly event with head-to-head racing all the way to the finish line. The entire Team was pumped from the great results obtained at BC Cup 1, held three weeks earlier in Whistler. Although the Team was smaller by 4 athletes, the number of medals was similar (11 at BC Cup 1 and 10 at BC cup 2).
