Congratulations to our athletes!

Competing at the Noram races in Canmore December 11 and 12, Aaron Neuman, Sarah Beaudry, Arthur Roots, Robbie Martin and Allie Dickson have qualified to represent BC in Biathlon at the 2011 Canada Winter Games to be held February 10 to 19 at Martock Nova Scotia. Aaron Neuman has been a CNSC member since he started Jackrabbits and is now living and training in Canmore with the Rocky Mountain Racers.

The races in Canmore represented significant competition since it was being used as a games qualifying race by multiple provinces and top athletes from Quebec west were competing. In Saturdays 10 km Jr Mens Sprint competition Aaron placed 7th , Arthur 21st and Robbie 25th out of a field of 30. In the Jr Womens competition Sarah placed 6th out of a field of 24. In Sundays 12.5 km Jr Mens Pursuit competition Aaron placed 8th, Robbie 24th and Arthur 26th while in the Jr Womens Pursuit Sarah placed 6th. Allie was racing in the Womens division because the event also was also a qualifier for the World University Games. She placed 5th in both the sprint and pursuit events.

For the CWG, competitors must race in the Junior Men and Women formats. For all except Aaron and Allie this means racing above their normal category. Allie is racing one category up while Sarah and Arthur, who will also be will eligible for the 2015 CWG, will be racing two catagories up in 2011.
