Instructors Wanted
If you're an avid skier that loves to get out on the trails and help others learn how to ski, we may have a position for you. Ski School is currently looking for more skiers to help teach the ways of the trails. Ski School instructors are paid an hourly wage and hours are flexible throughout the winter. If you are interested in becoming a Ski School instructor please contact the office.
CANSI Level 1 - Introduction to Ski Instruction
Ski School is planning to run a CANSI Level 1 course in December 2009 at Otway. CANSI Level 1 instructors are taught an introduction to ski instruction and once they have passed the course they are certified to teach novice skiers. This national designation is needed before an instructor can teach with the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club Ski School. For more course information and to sign up please visit the CANSI website at http://www.cansi.ca and click on "Courses".
CANSI Level 1 - Recertification
A Cansi refresher is also tentatively scheduled at Otway in December 2009. Recertification is required a minimum of once every three years. You are reminded that in order to teach as part of the CNSC Ski School and be covered by our insurance, your CANSI courses/fees must be kept up to date. If you need to recertify this season, please contact Carolyn at the office. For more course information and to sign up please visit the CANSI website at http://www.cansi.ca and click on "Courses". If you are unsure as to the status of your CANSI membership, please visit the CANSI website at http://www.cansi.ca or contact Pacific CANSI office @ pacific@CANSI.ca and ask for an update on your status.
