2 Lessons, 1.5 hours each

Want to be a ski instructor?
If you're an avid skier that loves to get out on the trails and help others learn how to ski, we may have a position for you. SKI SCHOOL instructors are paid an hourly wage and hours are flexible throughout the winter. It is imperative that all SKI SCHOOL instructors be at least CANSI Level 1 certified and that their membership is up to date. If you are interested in attaining your CANSI certification or have any questions please contact Carolyn, Ski School Coordinator, at schoolski@caledonianordic.com or 250-564-3809.
CANSI Level 1 - Introduction to Ski Instruction (2 days)
Ski School is planning to run a CANSI Level 1 course the weekend of December 8/9, 2012 at Otway. CANSI Level 1 instructors are taught an introduction to ski instruction and once they have passed the course they are certified to teach novice skiers. This national designation is needed before an instructor can teach with the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club Ski School. CANSI Level 1 – Recertification (1 day)
A CANSI refresher is also tentatively scheduled at Otway on December Saturday Dec. 15, 2012. Recertification is required a minimum of once every three years. You are reminded that in order to teach as part of the CNSC Ski School and be covered by our insurance, your CANSI courses/fees must be kept up to date. CANSI Level 2 (5 days over two weekends)
Ski School is planning to run a CANSI Level 2 course the weekends of January 12/13, and January 26/27/28 2013 at Otway. This 5-day course, split over two weekends, is for instructors looking to hone their teaching and skiing skills. The course focuses on skills and tactics needed to work with intermediate through advanced skiers. Facilitator: Karla Wikjord (Bruce Bennett, John Hagen)
Prerequisite: You must be a current X-Country Level I Instructor to register for this course.
