Bunnyrabbits 2012

Active Start

Ages 4-5 years

The Bunnyrabbit program teaches children aged 4 and 5 the basics of classic ski technique

in a fun, game oriented 45 minute to 1 hour session once a week

with juice and cookies served by ski moms and dads in the lodge after each lesson!

Our coaches focus on making learning fun and safe through games, songs and parent participation.

Our classes are grouped according to previous ski experience (including past year’s participation in Bunnyrabbits) and ability.

Your child will develop skills in falling and rising, side stepping, star turn, diagonal stride and herringbone (without poles)

while playing in the snow with their friends!

Children progress to the Jackrabbit program upon turning 6 years of age.

Ski Equipment: no-wax skis (beginners), waxable skis (second set and up) approx same height as your skier, please label your skis!

What to Wear: dress your bunny in layers- with natural fibers next to their skin (i.e. merino) (avoid cotton at all costs!), merino socks,

waterproof gloves, snowpants and jacket and a toque that stays put!

Do you need to help out? YES PLEASE! Our coaches require at least one parent each session

to join the group (to take back any bunnies that require an emergency bathroom break and to help assist skiers throughout each lesson!)

Please arrive early to class so your bunny is ready to ski at the start time of each lesson!

Lessons begin Tuesday January 8th , 2013 (Tuesday session) and Saturday, January 12th , 2013 (Saturday session)

and end with the SDP FunDay on Sunday, March 10th, 2013

 

Bunny Calendar for 2012

Our bunnies will be participating in the various special events along with the Jackrabbits and Jackalopes

The Great Cottontail Races through the Gruffalo Woods:  Tuesday January 22nd and Saturday January 26th

The Gruffalo Woods Treasure Hunt: Tuesday February 12th and Saturday February 16th

Dress Up your Bunny:  Tuesday February 19th and Saturday February 23rd
