BEFORE YOU BOOK!
SETTING EVERYONE UP FOR SUCCESS:
We want to make sure students, teachers, adult helpers, and our instructors are set up for success! Depending on the age and needs of your class, the adult to child ratio improves everyone’s experience. The CNSC Elementary School Ski Program appreciates having one to two adults (such as the teacher, TA, parent helper) per 6-8 children to aid the instructor during the lesson. However please remember that the lessons are for the children, and parents need to be comfortable enough on skis to manage themselves.
CNSC will outfit one parent supervisor/group at no charge. If you are a visiting parent and would like to ski on your own, you will receive a special rate of 50% off rental equipment and trail fee, (includes use of classic ski set only).
Supervision if booking a full day:
For school groups staying for a full day, you are responsible for supervision outside of the morning lesson time. Instructors are provided for the 1.5 hour lesson only. Please ensure that you have the proper number of supervisors (teachers/ parents) for your afternoon at the gravel pit.
Ski Patrol:
CNSC has a small volunteer group of Nordic Ski Patrol certified through the CSPS. We do not guarantee that there will be Ski Patrol personnel on site when your class visits. However, we do have staff on hand with Level 1 first aid certification.
Teachers:
- Please send us your class boot list 2 weeks prior to your first visit.
- Children who have their own equipment or are members of CNSC will receive a reduced rate (see the Program Details & Cost below).
- Please include this information on your class list, as well as a list of your parent helpers.
