Seniors Classic Ski Lesson & Guided Tours (55+)

Note: Registration opens on Friday December 29th at 6 a.m. and closes on Sunday January 7th at 12 noon.

CNSC Seniors/55+ Classic Cross-Country Ski Lesson and Instructional Guided Tours 

Join us for a classic cross-country ski lesson on Monday, January 15, and 3 weeks of instructional guided classic ski tours on Mondays January 22, 29 and February 5 from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. (with a social in the lodge from 2:30 – 3:00 p.m.).

There is a $10.00* registration fee for the 4-week program. (Cost of 3-week group lessons and instructional tours with CANSI certified instructors is normally $125.00).

Non-members must purchase half-priced trail passes ($12.50*) each week and half-priced rentals ($10.36*) are available.

The Seniors/55+ Classic Ski lesson and tours are led by CANSI certified senior ski instructors and supported by senior volunteers and ski patrol. During the tours, instructors will teach techniques to navigate the terrain. 

There will be 56 spaces available with six ability-level groups available:

For people new or quite new to cross country skiing; this group will mainly ski on flat (green) trails. 

For people with some previous skiing experience that prefer to tour at a slow but steady pace, this group will mainly ski on flat (green) trails, e.g. Pine Flats, Greenway Corridor. 

For people with previous ski experience:

Level 3:  flat (green) trails with smaller hills, e.g. Tigger, Dog on It.

Level 4:  flat (green) trails with some moderate hills (blue), e.g. Fingers, Northern Lights.

Level 5:  moderately hilly (blue) trails, e.g. Race Maze, Top Dog.

For people with previous ski experience; comfortable skiing hillier (blue and black) trails, e.g. Hickory Wing, Birch Bend.
